India’s festive seasons

My homeland is India.

India is a land of diversity and varied cultures. We indian celebrates each and every colours of human lifes in form of festivals.

Its a famous saying in india ,”each day is a celebration of God”.

In india, we have four seasons including- summer, spring, winter ,autumn. We also enjoy south west monsoon showers in between june to august.

We indian enjoy life at full extent with varied colours and joys of life.

Though we have festivals for each seasons but it is during autumn we celebrate the most festivals. Its between september and october most of the celebrations were made. It is during this period people of all caste and creed comes together and celebrates different festivals and functions.

I stay in kolkata which is one of the indian metros and capital of a renowned state West Bengal. In kolkata, during this period we celebrate “durga puja”. Before describing the festive mood i would like to share what “durga puja” is all about.

“Durga puja”
This is celebrated for 4 days. During this period we worships our Godesses “durga”.

We have celebrated this festivals to rejoys the victory of Godesses Durga over cruel Demon “Mahisha sur”. This victory signify and celebrate the power of women.

During “durga puja”, all over bengal numerous “pandals” were built in which masses worships Godesses “durga” and celebrated together. After “durga puja” we celebrate “kali puja”,”diwali”,”navratri”,”Bish karma puja” ,”deshahra” etc.

Thus, the above is a brief glimpses of varied festivals we celebrate in india specially during autumn.

Any way Happy “durga puja” to all. Hope Maa durga will save humanity from all troublesand pains of terrorisms.
